About Me
Hi, my name is Elena. I am here to make life a little easier for you who are searching for change and feel that it is time to take the first step.
Getting to know myself is an ongoing journey for me. I am constantly growing and learning, and it is simply my way of understanding myself and my place in this world.
My background
Graduated as a medical doctor. I spent every summer vacation and many weekends working as a nursing assistant and later as a junior doctor in intensive care units and surgical departments, to get closer to patients and to gain an understanding of what lies behind disease. In addition, I've worked in a number of other departments and health centers.
Meeting patients without all the protocols, titles and uniforms is easier said than done. The facade you learn to maintain by playing a certain role as medical staff is more of a disadvantage than an advantage – it keeps the patient at far too great a distance, which does not allow trust to develop and thus makes it harder to understand the cause of a person's state of health.
That was where I had to struggle, learn and grow as a person – through others, and above all by acquiring the ability not just to see a diagnosis or a medical history behind each patient, but to observe a human being with their own individual history, with their own weaknesses and strengths.
A sense that there should be more than just symptom relief – an understanding of deeper processes – is something I have never been able to let go of.
Hence my deepening into mental health. Over time, an insight grew about the holistic approach in medicine, which felt more right to apply – therefore I pursued further training as an integrative therapist and hypnotherapist.
I am currently studying clinical psychotherapy and rehabilitation therapy, among other things – to gain more tools and an even deeper understanding of human inner dynamics and healing processes, and to be able to promote psychosomatic health and bring difficulties into balance.
My experience extends beyond the academic and has shaped how I approach people today. Complex life stories and strong emotions do not scare me.
Having lived a life surrounded by great multicultural diversity, both personally and professionally, has developed my ability to put myself in others' shoes and to see that something greater lies beneath the surface.
I am a licensed healthcare professional and work under a duty of confidentiality, keeping medical records in a system that is separate from the public healthcare system's.
